I'm well on my way to Hollywood...

Okay, not really.  *sigh*

I think I have mentioned before that my sister and I were extras on the TV show Friday Night Lights and that we saw ourselves on Episode Five of Season Three for .25 seconds. Right?

Well, here is a screen shot of us....
FNL
We are on the bottom right of the screen. And if you are a fan of the show, you can see that "Grandma" was sitting directly behind me.   PS. We were supposed to look "not happy".

I had such a great time doing it the first time, so I decided to drag my friends, Melissa and Ashley, to come with me and do it again.

DSC03265-1

We went this past Saturday (12/12/09). Our call time was at 2:00pm and once we arrived we had to wait in a really long line so we could get checked in. (We get paid $75 bucks each for being an extra.) After we were checked in we had to go to wardrobe to get our different clothing options we brought with us approved. After they approved our clothing we stood in line to get our free lunch. I didn't eat it because it looked really gross. They served mixed vegetables, instant mashed potatos and rice with chicken.

Here is a picture of Melissa with her meal.

After we ate, we had to sit around and wait for everyone else to get checked in...which took about 3.5 hours.

Once everyone was checked in, we made our way to the football field where we filed in and sat down, waiting for further instructions...

We were given signs and pom poms to hold up during filming.

PS. It was SUPER cold outside...AND wet!
Cold + Wet = Miserable.

Here are some pictures I took before they started filming...

DSC03250

We had a lot of free time in between each shot that was filmed. We had to do the same thing over and over again until we moved on to the next scene...But we were having fun. Melissa most of all...she got really into it and entertained Ashley and I the entire night.

By the time nightfall hit, the weather got worse. It was colder and it became very foggy.

DSC03266  DSC03280

Ashley and I complained pretty much the rest of the night...but not Melissa...oh no...she kept cheering and jumping up and down. Ashley and I were so ready to go home but we still had eight hours of filming left...that's right EIGHT HOURS!!!

FYI: If you leave before filming is finished you don't get paid. We had to stay the entire time.

Here are some more pictures:

Here is a picture of  "Matt" and "Grandma".
He was really sweet - about halfway through the field he looped his arm with hers. They were done filming for the night and were heading back to their trailers.

Here is a picture of "Landry".

About Midnight, some of us were asked to change our shirts and switch sides. Once we got to the other side, we were asked to stand in the front row of the bleachers. Then Ashley and I were told to go in front of the stands and pretend like we were finding our seats when filming started. Then Ashley and I were told to stand in front of the stands and that we were now "Rally Girls". Uh-okay. We stood behind the "Panther" cheerleaders for one of the shots.

Here is a picture of Melissa and Ashley crossing the field.

DSC03311
This is from when Ashley and I were standing behind the cheerleaders and as you can see there is "Buddy Garrity".

DSC03308
Here is Ashley as a "Rally Girl".

After those scenes were shot, we were asked to move back in the stands and then they brought everyone else from the other side to our side for "blocking". Not sure what that means...

While everyone was changing from their red shirts to their blue or yellow shirts...they started passing out sandwiches. The sandwich was AMAZING but I'm pretty sure it was only because I was starving.

We did another hour and a half of filming and then they finally called "That's a wrap!"

We followed the crowd to go turn in our payment vouchers and as we waited in line, one of the crew members started calling out birthday's. If he called your birthday you would get an iPod. When he got to June he called June 15th. AAAAAGGGGGHHH! Mine is the 17th!

After we turned in our vouchers we decided to stick around to see if we could win any prizes. After he did the birthday thing, he said he was moving onto bigger prizes and that we would have to answer a trivia question. He asked "What was the movie that Julia Roberts won an Oscar for?" And I'm not kidding...I was the FIRST person to say Erin Brokavich but I'm short and was behind people and so he didn't hear me but a couple other people did so they started saying Erin Brokavich, Erin Brokavich. Luckily, Ashley was right next to the guy and after she heard everyone shouting Erin Brokavich she tapped the guy on the shoulder and told him the answer and she WON!!!!! She won a 19.9" Flat Screen TV. That baby should have been mine, but at least Ashley won and not some stranger!

After the guy had passed out all of the prizes we headed to the car and went home...by the time we got home it was 3:00 a.m.

We had a great time, although we were miserably cold all night...

We decided that we will only be an extra again if the weather is going to be nice and warm...

The end.

PS. Here are promo pictures of the characters I showed you in my pictures above...just so you can see their faces clearly.

Another fun website...

Wordle is a really fun website. You just type in your url and it randomly selects words that have shown up recently in your blog. You can also create one by just typing in random words. It's kind of addicting.

Here is one I just created...I love the fact that "boy-pee" made it on the list...

Thanks EYEGIRL for the tip!! :)

Open Letter to Santa Claus‏

Dearest Mr. Santa Claus,

Remember the year of 1985? I was four years old and I asked for a pony. Did I receive one? NO.

Year 1986? I asked for a flying reindeer. But oh-no you wanted to keep them all to yourself. That's selfish, Saint Nicholas. Ha. Saint Nicholas. Yeah right.

Year 1987? I asked for a little elf friend and do you remember what you told me? You told me that my mom was close enough. Come on, Father Christmas, that's just mean. I don't care if she is 4'11"!

Year 1988? I asked for a unicorn. And surprise, surprise you failed me again.

I'm 28 years old now and have realized that you couldn't possibly have given me a unicorn because, well let's just be honest - they don't exist but come on, Santa...a pony? You could have definitely given me a pony. You broke my heart, Kris Kringle.

I think it's about time you made it up to me. So, here is a list of things I want this year...please don't let me down this time.

1. Edward Cullen. (He's real. I just know he is.)

2. A new, beautiful house - preferably on the beach somewhere.

3. A pony. (This one should be a freebie. Remember, you owe me.)

4. A husband.

5. A guest appearance on Glee. (Oh and could you give me a good singing voice while you're at it?)

6. A chance to meet Ellen DeGeneres (I would also like to take Mama Kat with me, so please make this happen. I'm not sure if she has been good this year...but it's MY list and MY wish...so her behavior this year shouldn't matter.)

As I was making my wishlist I started thinking...I think you should give me everything on this list...you know, to make up for the disappointment you've been the last twenty-four years. Seriously. It's the least you can do.

Thanks in advance,
Amy

PS. I know I don't have to tell you this but I've been very good this year!

PSS. I don't mean to be a tattletale but no matter what he tells you...my brother has been very naughty this year and I think he should definitely get coal in his stocking.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Just wanted to show everyone my Christmas Tree that my roommates and I put up last Sunday.

Hooray for Christmas!!

Negative Comments Welcome

I received my first negative comment earlier this month and I debated on whether or not I wanted to address it or not and since I currently have nothing else to say I thought I might as well go for it.

First of all, this comment in no way offended me...I actually laughed when I first read it. Second, it was kind of exciting to get my first negative comment.

Here is the comment:
Anonymous said...
Really, two "boy pee" posts pretty much cover the subject. Stay away from a third.
November 14, 2009 4:12 PM

This was in response to this posting and this posting.

What I want to know is...what happens if I write a third? What then? Every day I have been hoping that something terrible will happen in MY bathroom just so I can write a third "boy pee" post but sadly nothing has happened.

So, can you tell me Negative Commenter? What will you do if I decide to write a third "boy pee" post? Should I be afraid?

Seriously, please come back and comment again. You make me laugh.

So, to all of you anonymous negative commenter's out there? I wanted to let you know that this is MY blog and I will write about whatever the heck I want to write about...but you can still feel free to leave any negative comments you want. They make me laugh and entertain me. And me and my friends shall make fun of your cowardliness of posting an anonymous comment.

ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS WELCOME!!

Note: Please refrain from commenting negatively on my physical appearance though, I am a delicate flower and it will hurt my delicate feelings...

The end.

New Moon

BEST. WEEKEND. EVER.

So, I started my Saturday with getting a new haircut! I love love love getting my haircut and it had been over a year since my last one. I have been growing my hair out and so I needed to put some new layers in and get my hair thinned out. (I have really, really thick hair!) And I absolutely love it! Thanks Tom!

Then I went and picked up my friend Ashley and we went on some errands. (Went to Target, had my car vacuumed, and went and picked up the pre-ordered New Moon tickets for everybody.)

Then I went home and met Christina, who came over to get the enchiladas ready before she went to work. (She is awesome! She came and made the enchiladas for everybody and she wasn't even going to be there to eat them because she had to work! How sweet is that?!?)

Then I took a quick nap because I knew I would be tired and sleepy because I had woken up at 6:00 a.m. that morning and our movie wasn't until 11:00 p.m.

After my nap, I got up and got ready for the party.

People started to arrive around 6:15ish and we started eating dinner around 7:15ish. We watched Twilight, played a New Moon trivia game (Sadly, I didn't win!), ate dessert and headed to the theatre around 9:00 p.m.

We thought there was going to be a long line but luckily there were only about six people in line ahead of us. We were two hours early, so we all sat down in line and chatted. It was a lot of fun!

Then we watched the movie...and it made me happy.

To be honest, there were some disappointments with scenes that weren't put in the movie or some of the things that they changed from the book...but overall I loved it.

On the way home, Ashely, Melissa and I made plans to go see it again on Sunday...and we did. I think EVERYONE should go see it twice! Now that I knew what to expect I was able to enjoy it a whole lot more and now I love love love it!

PS. On Sunday, we made it a double feature and went and saw The Blind Side too! So good! Made me cry...

Anyway, here are pictures from the party on Saturday night.

Happy New Moon Release Day!!! (Seven hours....)

Ha ha.

Ha ha. People are funny.

I just got a random call at work and here is our conversation.

Me: Company Name, this is Amy. Can I help you?

Solicitor: Yes, I was wondering if you could tell me the model number on your printer. Is the printer next to you?

Me: Um, no. What is this for?

Solicitor: We are just trying to update our records. Is there someone who can look up the model number for us?

Me: Well, did we buy the printer from you?

[Click]

Yep, she hung up on me. I guess that is how you get rid of solicitors on the phone. You answer their questions with questions of your own. Apparently they will get fed up with you and hang up.

I must remember this for the next time...

The end.

PS. So excited for my Twilight party on Saturday! Hooray!

Flashback Friday

1581884212_57276dd550_o

So I decided to participate in Texan Mama's Flashback Friday.

Apparently all you have to do is just re-post an old post of yours and link up here so that we can all visit each other and your post can get some more action. It's a big old fashioned love fest!

Here goes...

So this is an old post from January 28, 2009, titled The gift that keeps on giving...

So, back in December I got Ashley a life-size Edward Cullen cardboard cutout…just as a joke! *cough* Uh, yeah…

I was going to set him up in her room while she was at work but it arrived when she was home and it kind of ruined the surprise. So with the surprise ruined we folded him up and stuffed him in the closet underneath the stairs. After a few weeks of waiting for Ashley to forget about him, I finally got my chance to set him up in her room.

This past Sunday, while she was at church, I set him up right next to her bed. I giggled to myself, as I made my way back downstairs. I couldn’t wait for her to come home! When she finally came home after church, I was in my room and had completely forgotten about it. She went upstairs to change and I heard her yelp! I laughed so hard!!!! She scolded me as she laughed and then told me she was going out to lunch with a friend. When she came back that night, she apparently had forgotten that he was set up in her room because she screamed again. Unfortunately, I was already in bed and did not get to enjoy the moment.

I woke up the next morning and opened my bedroom door to let the dog outside. He started growling as soon as he left the room, I looked up towards the loft to see what he was growling at and then I screamed. Apparently, Sunday night, Ashley set Edward up against the loft railing so that he would be the first thing I saw in the morning. After we had a good laugh, Ashley moved him back away from the railing so Romey wouldn’t see him and growl and bark at him all day.

Later (Monday afternoon) when I was at work I got a text from Carol. Here was our conversation:

Carol: Is there a reason Edward is in the loft??

Me: LOL!! I set him up in Ashley’s room when she was at church yesterday and when she came home it scared the crap out of her. She left for the day and came back home late last night and he scared her again so she moved him into the loft.

Carol: He just scared me! He’s going to need a new home.

Me: LOL!!!!

After work I got home and Carol was downstairs. We chatted a little while and then I went to my room to go change. I went through my bathroom to get to my closet and opened the door and then I screamed!! Edward was right behind my closet door staring down at me. That’s right staring down. When they say life-size they really mean life-size. I yelled, “Carol, I hate you!” She then came into my bathroom and started laughing. She said she didn’t even think about getting me until I texted her “LOL” earlier that day.

We then decided to get Ashley again. We stuck him in the downstairs half-bath and I knew eventually she would go in there. She didn’t disappoint. About 8:00 pm she went to go to the bathroom and opened the half-bath door. She screamed so loud…it was hilarious!!! I then put Edward in the laundry room for the night.

When I went to bed, Ashley begged me to give her a break with the Edward scare. She said she didn’t know how much more her heart could take.

The next morning, I woke up and opened my door and Edward was right in the entryway. No scream came out, but my heart did drop and my whole body went warm.

I definitely got my money’s worth.

It is the gift that keeps on giving…
